Orientation

A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe.

Under the able guidance of our Academic Director , Ms Akansha Tandon, an Orientation Programme was organized on 17th March,23 for the parents of new admission at Vandana International School Sector 10, Dwarka. The aim was to familiarize the parents, 'as partners in progress' with curriculum, rules and regulations of the school and teaching methodologies. Co-scholastic activities were also discussed that gave the parents an idea of the curriculum which is self directed with hands-on learning activities that not only give our students a medium to fully utilise their creative talents and energies, but also help them in their all-round development.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents followed by various performances by our students including Hanuman Stuti, Skit on holistic development, medley of different activities i e. skating, taekwondo, western dance etc. Welcoming the new set of parents to the new academic session, our Academic Director, Ms Akansha Tandon addressed the gathering in which she spoke at length about the  benefits of effective communication between the teachers & the parents, she laid emphasis on a strong connection with the school patrons and also sought their support and suggestions so that the children could be provided the best for their overall development.

It was followed by a session taken by the school Counsellor, Ms.Preeti Sinha, who guided the parents about various principles involved in the teaching of life skills.

Overall it was a fruitful meeting and the parents were in high spirits after attending orientation programme. It also helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their kids.


Summer Exhibition 2022

The summer exhibition of Primary wing of Vandana International School for the year 2022-23 was held on 17 July, 2022. The children came up with creative and unique way to exhibit their creativity on specific topic. 

Students of Grade I to V participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The exhibits of various subjects were displayed to showcase their understanding on vivid topics. The students were thrilled and excited to explain and illustrate their innovative ideas. They had worked on various eco-friendly projects wherein they gauged the largest and smallest drinking water state and presented it through bar graphs. Few of them came up with speeches where they explained the reasons of their favourite freedom fighters as their role models. While other students made solar boxes to depict how nature could be utilised to its best to suite our needs. 

It was indeed great to see large number of parents who appreciated the hardwork of our young students. It was an eye-catchy performance about how the students had applied interdisciplinary approach highlighting the 17 SDG goals by the UNITED NATIONS

Orientation Day 2022

"Education is not ellegation of knowledge but formation of character."

Orientation programme evokes a feeling of belongingness.Our Kindergarten orientation programme was held on March 26, 2022. The goal of orientation programme was to ensure a warm interaction between the parents and the teachers and to make them aware of the rules and regulations of the school.The Academic Director Akanksha Tandon ma'am and  our coordinators  addressed the parents with lots of love and respect. Our anchors meticulously took us through the event and enthused the events with  the performances.
Our tiny tots showed stupendous  dance , yoga and musical  performances.  It acquainted the parents with the formal mode of  education. It proved to be a sincere effort made by school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children  in a proper manner.

Orientation Programme - Middle Wing

An ‘Orientation Programme’ was organized virtually for the parents of Middle School 2020 – 2021 by Vandana International School with the aim to familiarize the parents as ‘partners in progress’ with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the virtual examination, teaching methodologies and the enrichment activities.
The programme commenced with Shiv Stuti followed by a welcome address. The school Academic Director, Ms. Akansha Tandon welcomed the parents and shared the school vision, the curriculum, school systems, teaching methodologies and the parameters of assessment. She laid stress on effective communication between the teachers and parents and also sought their support and suggestions so that the best could be done for the overall development of the students. She also gave tips on how to nurture a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future. 
A talk on ‘Cyber safety’ was delivered by Ms. Preeti Sinha, the school counselor. The main focus of her presentation was to provide effective approaches to parenting particularly during the pandemic times. She gave tips to parents as how to raise kids who are not only disciplined but at the same time happy and responsible human beings.
The program was very enriching and concluded with a very interactive open forum.

Orientation Programme - IX -X

A virtual orientation programme was organised for the parents of classes IX and X by Vandana International School. The program commenced with the welcome dance performance by the students of class IX. Our academic director, Ms Akansha Tandon welcomed the parents to the program. She acquainted the parents with the formal mode of virtual education.she also shared the school's vision, the systems, achievers and different teaching methodologies.
The vice principal Ms Purnima Thakur enlightened the parents about do's and dont's of virtual classes and guidelines for online examinations, followed by explanation on experiential learning  and different criteria of assessments like portfolio, subject enrichment, art integration  and multiple assessment explained stupendously by all the subject experts. 
School Counsellor, Ms. Preeti Sinha also apprised the parents about cyberbullying  and taken up the queries of the parents regarding the same. With this the event was concluded successfully.

Orientation Programme - XI-XII

Orientation programme of class 11 and 12
Vandana International Sr Sec School ,Dwarka organised a virtual  Orientation Programme on 24 September 2020 with the aim  to bridge the gap between the facilitator and the student ensuring a smooth communication between the two .Student orientation which  is a warm up session for the students before they are ready to hit the ground for their final performance for a successful career orientation programme is a sincere effort made by VIS to familiarize the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner.It provided the parents with the clear idea of what the students are learning currently in virtual classes and how it will add them in their careers in the future.
The orientation program began with the welcome of the students ,their parents ,faculty members and the Academic Director ,VIS,Ms Akansha Tandon and the Vice Principal Mrs Purnima Thakur graced the occasion with their presence .Followed next was lamp lighting ceremony accompanied by Saraswati Vandana.
Ms. Akansha Tandon welcomed the parents and shared the school vision, the curriculum, school systems, teaching methodologies and the parameters of assessment. She laid stress on effective communication between the teachers and parents and also sought their support and suggestions so that the best could be done for the overall development of the students. She also gave tips on how to nurture a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future.
The respective faculty members gave detailed information about the experiential learning, parameters and stressed upon innovative teaching and learning methodologies followed in the school during virtual classes .

The program culminated by extending gratitude to the management of the school,Faculty members and special word of thanks to the parents for taking pain and sparing their valuable time  to attend the orientation  session .
The orientation program ended on a good Note with an aim of growing our children into happy skillful and creatively well-adjusted.
