ASSESSMENT POLICY
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 aim to transform the Indian education system into one that is more holistic, flexible, and aligned with the needs of 21st-century learners. In line with this vision, the Secondary Stage (Grades 9 to 12) marks a significant phase in a student’s life, focusing on critical thinking, deeper learning, and career readiness.
Assessment at this stage is no longer limited to rote-based exams but is competency-based, multidimensional, and designed to promote continuous learning and improvement. It ensures that students not only gain knowledge but also develop skills, values, and attitudes essential for personal and national development.
Evaluations are thoughtfully designed across the following key domains:
Subject Enrichment
Activities are designed to build experiential learning, creativity, and critical thinking.
Integrated with each subject, they help students connect knowledge with real-life values.
Examples: Quizzes, role plays, poster making, poetry recitation, art-integrated presentations.
Project-Based Learning
Projects promote active participation, collaboration, and exploration of key skills.
Encourages problem-solving, logical reasoning, and innovative thinking.
Examples: Culinary art, creating story slides, visual art projects, model making.
Multiple Assessments
Aims to assess learners continuously and comprehensively using varied tools.
Teachers use a mix of oral tests, group discussions, story narration, listening/speaking tasks, and peer/group activities.
Promotes consistency and fairness in evaluation.
Pen & Paper Assessments
Formal pen-paper tests will be conducted for Grades IX to XII
These tests complement ongoing assessments to gauge conceptual understanding and writing skills.
Portfolio

Attendance Requirement
Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible for appearing in assessments.
Students will not be discouraged from taking any assessment unless under genuine emergencies such as prolonged illness, injury, or other serious circumstances.
