ANNUAL SPORTS MEET AND FELICITATION CEREMONY 2018-2019
Vandana International School, Sector-10,Dwarka celebrated its Annual Sports Day & Prize Distribution Ceremony on 27th January 2019 at Dr. Sahib Singh Verma Stadium, Sector-16 ,Dwarka with a patriotic touch and well festooned with its theme UDAAN- An Ode To Freedom. The Chief Guests,Mr Gulab Singh, MLA, Matiala, Mr Naresh Balyan, MLA, Uttam Nagar and Ms Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Leader of House, SDMC accompanied by Guest of Honour, Mr. Bajrang Punia, recently honoured with Padma Shri on Republic Day; and Mr. Gaurav Sharma, a widely known weightlifter, embraced the ceremony and they were welcomed by Mr V.P.Tandon, Chaiman & Principal of the school along with Ms Vandana Tandon, Principal, Kamal Model School. The school management, along with other dignitaries lit the lamp followed by the welcome address by Mr. Harsh Tandon, Vice Chairman of the school. The events commenced with the torch ceremony, the band led the parade. There was an astounding coordination among the Contigents. An oath was administered to students to participate in the sports day with true sportsman spirit. The Cultural Events stepped ahead with Ganesh Vandana which laid the ground for other excotic performances. Academic Director of the school, Mrs. Akansha Tandon tabled the Annual Report indicating the progress of the school, participation of students and their achievements. The academic achievers were felicitated and their meritorious efforts were appreciated. The spectators were particularly enthused by the Patriotic Drill and praised the efforts profusely. The school orchestra oozed the audience with their electrifying performance. The commando drill had put a light on the lives of soldiers. Various dance performances showcased the art of patriotism. There seemed no end to the cheers and screeches by the audience as the event pumped up the crowd and they were left spell bound. The event concluded with the National Anthem which was followed by the vote of thanks given by Ayush Kumar, the head boy of VIS.
The day was a fun filled fest of laughter, energy and delight as around 1200 students presented and participated in various activities along with the through support of the parents which made UDAAN a great success.
